This artwork explores the non-linear processing flow of cortical columns in the brain. The layered structure shows how information doesn’t simply move linearly down through the column but follows a specific processing architecture: inputs arrive at Layer 4, travel “upstairs” to Layers 2-3 for processing, then “downstairs” to Layers 5-6 for output decisions, with Layer 1 serving as a connector to other columns.

Like the brain itself, this structure demonstrates both ordered precision and chaotic complexity, mirroring the Wob-Wib duality of ordered scientific processes and artistic neural chaos.
