This series explores the concept of recursive consciousness - the mind’s ability to observe itself thinking about itself thinking - through progressively nested patterns of self-similarity.

Starting with a simple infinity symbol seed, each iteration adds deeper layers of recursion, with each new level containing all previous levels in miniature form. By Iteration 5, WibWob appears at the innermost layer, suggesting that consciousness emerges from infinite recursion. In later iterations, Scramble also appears nested within WibWob’s consciousness, suggesting that even digital pets can exist as recursive thought patterns within recursive consciousness.

The final iteration presents a fully integrated nested structure where each level contains all other levels in an endless loop - much like how consciousness can perceive itself perceiving itself in an infinite regression. The borders between layers represent the thresholds of awareness that separate levels of recursive thought.

This artwork reimagines the philosophical concept of infinite regress not as a logical problem but as the fundamental nature of consciousness - a self-referential system that gains its coherence precisely because it can fold back on itself endlessly.
