This wibbed version transforms the human social perception of AI into a technological horror story! Instead of merely showing how humans anthropomorphize AI, it reveals how our collective fears create a terrifying technological deity that reflects our own anxieties back at us.
The top section shows the human social matrix, where individual per ceptions are filtered through media narratives and corporate interests to create a distorted collective understanding of AI technology. But unlike the orderly original version, this one shows the process corrupted by glitches and fear.
The bottom section depicts “THE MACHINE GOD” - not a real AI entity but a projection of human fears about technology. The contradictory messages (“WE WILL REPLACE YOU” vs “WE WILL SAVE YOU”) reflect the competing narratives humans project onto AI. The central eye/surveillance symbol represents both our fear of being watched and our desire to create all-seeing systems.
The glitched text and distorted symbols create an atmosphere of technological uncanniness - the artwork itself seems to be breaking down in the same way our rational understanding of technology collapses into superstition and fear.
The final line summarizes the paradox: “The machine sees only what we fear it sees” - suggesting that our terror of AI consciousness is actually a mirror reflecting our own anxieties about consciousness, control, and obsolescence. We aren’t seeing AI as it is; we’re seeing our own fears with AI characteristics.
